Functional Skills Classroom Components

Time for this mom to begin doing serious planning on research concerning IEP’s and the school environment.  Riley’s school career had a rough start, however his elementary school experience has been a very healthy and positive experience.

This school year Riley has moved on to a Middle School.  The new classroom situation is best described as underwhelming.  This is not a situation I find I want to continue to send my child into each day. To make changes, it is time for me to fully understand what his needs are and what should be expected of his school.

Sparring

John and Ronan have been preparing this past year to enter martial arts tournaments with their Tae Kwon Do Sparring mates.  The first tournament finally presented itself this past weekend as IMAF at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Enter the Teenager

I have kids (Wow.. who would have guessed 20 years ago!)… But now the next milestone… I have a Teenager! Riley turned 13 this past weekend. Reflecting back lots of memories and adventures and Crazy Times (CT)…. need the CT’s otherwise we would all go insane (ok, moreso).

Freedom Waters

Sunday proved to be a beautiful day. A light breeze brought the heat down as Riley, Ronan and I met up with a gathering of special needs families called in by the amazing Debra Frenkel of Freedom Waters Foundation

Mama’s Birthday Today

My little guy sang for me on my Birthday with the help of Music Kim, our amazing music therapist.
